After the massive earthquakes in April and May 2015, we Nepalis were all shaken, both physically and mentally. As a part of this community I decided I had a responsibility to do something positive. So, I pulled together a bunch of musicians from different bands and formed an ensemble to perform in schools and colleges, and share the healing touch of music. This became the Healing through Music project. All the musicians and project team are volunteers. We bring all of our equipment including sound system ourselves, and do the concerts for free. Our only request is for the better-off schools and students to collect stationary and other school supplies, or cash which we then distribute to schools which have been damaged and are running their classes in makeshift camps. We are hoping to continue our program once the border blockade is over.
